Co-owning dogs isn't a new concept. It became more common between 1940-1970 as purebred registries became formalized, transportation increased & breeding was heavily based on reputation. This resulted in reputable breeders collaborating with each other. It was also a way to control bloodlines, gain access to good genetics, receive mentorship, access more shows/titles in different areas & expand breeding programs without overcrowding. Today many breeders are choosing to own dogs with partners for some of the same reasons.
Here at Nollaftra Frenchies we are so blessed with our co-own breeding partners. We hear so many horror stories about co-owning in the dog breeding world. We don’t NEED to co-own our French bulldogs. We co-own because it multiplies knowledge, ideas, support, investments, bloodlines, structure & quality. We have a SMALL intimate team. And together our team has a network.
Honestly ETHICAL French Bulldog breeding is NOT for the faint of heart. Most breeders have their breeding processes down, their way, but it’s single input & sometimes lacks checks & balances. Buying from a French bulldog breeder with co-owners is the difference between buying from a single person or buying from a team. Think of ants! Ants accomplish complex, GREAT things through decentralized but highly organized teamwork rather than what a single ant accomplishes alone.
When you’re on an ETHICAL team, team members will not only give you their input but also hold you accountable. Teamwork, or “co-owning”, leads to increased productivity, professional growth, enhanced innovation & reduces burnout due to strong support systems. And at Nollaftra Frenchies, co-owning results in better bred puppies!
Co-owning also widens your reach as a consumer. If we don’t have exactly what you’re looking for it’s likely one of our teammates does. And those teammates have a network of connections all over the country & the world, with the same ethical practices. BUT you’re still getting the care taken from small, in-home family breeders without worrying about contributing to poorly bred French bulldog puppies, puppy mills or shelter overcrowding. (Ask about our contract - if your life circumstances ever change we will ALWAYS take our dogs back NO QUESTIONS ASKED).
That’s what this is all about! Breeding French bulldogs ethically so you, the consumer, benefit from all we do in our program & with our teams. Reach out to see if we can help you find your forever French bulldog family member! In Phoenix Arizona, USA & internationally too
REAL people, REAL team, REAL network, REAL LOVE, making the world a better place one Frenchie at a time.
